  1. ​ @TNuss That's a failed argument as well because it suggests that only blue states or jurisdictions release the "criminals". But it is states like Texas that passed lax laws to allow virtually anyone to buy a gun without any background check and even if they have a SMI or serious mental illness. And despite the repeated mass shootings in Texas, in one today resulted in six killed, the Republican controlled Texas legislature has done nothing to protect its own citizens from gun violence.
