By putting his perspective into a book Michael Mann can reach a little of people. He is doing exactly like what others do by putting his thoughts and feelings into a book. I would never begrudge him the choice as an avenue to educate people. Maybe you are just envious that he is writing a book which you can only dream of doing. Of course you could also make up your mind and write a book yourself too?!

@bobbart4198 So very true! Well said.

This interview was only ten minutes and it is impossible to cover all of the primary elements that lead to climate change. At best Mr Mann can only touch on a few subjects.

We are still a long way from giving up. In fact no matter how bad it does some people will never quit. We can afford to resign ourselves to despair. The next generations depend on us to do more to make the necessary changes. But of course how that happens is still a matter of inertia.

I think that extreme weather becomes more intense and more frequent at some point we will hit a critical mass of consciousness and people will start to push for massive change at the grassroots level. That is only way to turn this ship around.

Where there is life there is always hope. I can be quite cynical myself about what is going on with the resistance to make the necessary changes to slow climate change. However I am also aware the human beings have a capacity to overcome adversity and prevail against great odds. In short if people the world over felt there was no hope then society would collapse very rapidly in utter chaos. And that would be the end in the most tragic way possible!! We owe the next generation more than that!

@deathstarxxx Relative to what other time in human history has CO2 ever been as high as it is now. And as CO2 continues to rise extreme will become more intense and lasting longer. There are countless studies and articles to this point on the internet and other publications. Just find me one source that supports what you are saying cuz all I hear comments like that just like that about Haarp or chem trails, etc which is at best psuedoscience!!

@haveaseatplease What is the point of mentioning the high methane level in African swamps to your whole comment. And what advanced civilization was around 11700 years ago that would experienced that change in temperature even if it did occur abruptly which I seriously doubt?!

@nsbd90now There's a lot worse things that Michael Mann could be. After all we see the examples of "a lot worse things" in the global warming denier crowd.

@deathstarxxx Deny, deny deny! That sums up you whole argument. The CO2 level is higher than it has been in three million years and it is continuing to increase by 2-3 ppm every year and hit a high of 424 ppm. You go ahead and believe what you want which makes you the kind of person that you won't get the seriousness of this global warming threat until it hits you in the face with some kind of extreme weather event. Of course some die never waking up to basic truths. Take for example of the millions of people who denied the threat of Covid and didn't need to take the vaccine. Then many of them ended up in an ICU dying from Covid. Some of them begged for the vaccine not realizing it was too late for them. Many still denied to their last breath that it was Covid was killing them!! If you aren't willing to consider all sides of an issue then why be surprised when the side you denied the most hits you in the arse?!
