  1. This report by Thom is all too true and very sad. I hike a lot in the New Mexico and even in the wild areas there are few insects and birds. We humans are in for a real shock when this decline begins to really impact us directly. This is all part of the Sixth Extinction that many scientists have talked about for several years now. Global warming is only part of the bigger problem we are facing.
