On the one hand the population is at the core of why the world is in the difficult place it is now. But it is a problem which many people don't realize is beginning to fix itself. Every developed country in the world is seeing their population stabilize or decline significantly because of the population is aging. Japan is a significant example in this respect. Even in many developing countries there is some decline in population growth in large part because women have more control over the family planning. Beyond this what can really be done about the continued population growth beyond education? Talking about it doesn't change anything. And as far as the minuscule good news, I'm sure that Michael Mann could have gone on with several more examples of good news about what is going on in the world as it relates to climate, but he had but a few minutes on Thom's show to talk about it. We need to be thankful for minuscule good news occasionally to provide some hope going forward.
