  2. The people of the medvieval era. It was a brutal time to live with kings sometimes imposing very harsh taxes on the people. Infant mortality was very high. The average peasant struggled from day to day to make a living. Life was especially difficult for the Anglo Saxons in England first fighting the Vikings for a couple hundred years followed shortly after by the invasion of William the conqueror who showed favoritism to his Norman compatriots at the expense of the native Anglo-Saxons sort of like our current US president. This is not to say it isn't difficult for a lot of people today who struggle to make ends meet.

  3. I'm with you there. I was in England just last week and when I walked into York Minster and looked up at the immense height of the tower I was emotionally overwhelmed for a moment.
