To the degree that greed is a natural part of the process of capitalism I would agree with you. There are capitalist elements in China despite its communist governmental ideology which President Xi has gone out of his way to sabotage. There are a great many companies trying to cash in on the EV market that are for various reasons ill equipped to do. That's where the greed comes in and given the multiple failures in other aspects of the Chinese economy this is unlikely to end well for anyone.

Thanks for covering this story. I think you sre right that these misguided people are driven by a fear of change and maybe resentment toward Elon Musk. I am critical of some of Musk's behavior, but I don't react with some a violent protest. That is just stupid!!

Do you realize that the biggest reason that the big 3 US automakers resisted improving fuel efficiency standards for decades was that any time republicans were in the WH and controlled Congress was to limit the requirements for automakers to increase efficiency. Republicans have been an obstacle to the US developing into a truly 21st century country in many other ways as well such as resisting universal health care and denying climate change which was always about favoring big business.

@timetraveller885 Disappointed arises for setting ones expectations to high. Consequently, if one keeps their expectations at a minimum then disappointment is much less likely. That is standard I attempt to practice and usually I am successful at it.

@fpsharing Every country demonstrates advantages and disadvantages with similar technology. I'll take the US gong show over what is going on in China every damn day. The US could be in a deep recession and I would still prefer the US over the repressive President Xi dictatorship. His policies harken back to the repressive policies under Mao!! China is experiencing increasing economic decline in different sectors of the society which Xi's policies have only made worse.

This will begin to get right when musk is out of government. Of course trump needs to be gone too, but that is a bigger matter. Much less likely is that Musk becomes aware of how stupid and counterproductive his activities have been at DOGE.

@robertfonovic3551 This isn't about comparing the US to Germany. This video is about what protestors are doing in Germany with their misguided protests.
