There is no giving up where there is life because that disrespects future generations as well as ourselves. Because we can still reduce CO2 emissions to give future generations a better chance. And we can learn better how to adapt to the more serious warming yet to come. We really don't have a choice.

Where you live with below normal temperatures is not representative of the world. Global warming means that the average global temperature has increased. That means there are more record high temperatures than record cold temperatures. And the number of record high temperatures is increasing. Also you state that you have four years of cooler than normal temperatures. Climate is long term measured in decades and not years.
