@Paul Goldstein, NYC You are really not getting it. This recent spike just started a few weeks ago so consequently the death rate will come later by a few weeks. It was always this way. If you are a New Yorker then you should know this. NYC had a rapid case increase back in March and April which was followed by a high death rate. This covid increase in cases is already leading to full ICU's in Arizona and Texas.

@jaidogu That is a seriously flawed assessment for the reason for the covid case increase in these southern states. In the first place the covid increase started a month AFTER these states started to reopen in early May. The protests began May 25 and that occured all over the country. But the case count started spiking in early June too soon for the protests to be the cause of the increase. In the second place many places with massive protests had no spike in covid cases. NYC had the biggest protests of all, but has had no covid case increase. Even now a month later I have seen no increase in cases because of the protests. Most people at the protests wore masks and were social distancing and being outside all led to a reduced the likelihood of transmission. Have a good day.

@Paul Goldstein, NYC You seem to have this habit of posting false information in your comments. Here again you are wrong. There have been thousands who died while in the ICU including many UNDER 60 with most in their 60's and 70's who died usually because they had pre-existing conditions. Many medical staff have also died in hospitals who middle aged as well. This happened in the high casualties in NY as well as ICU's around the country since.

@jaidogu No one with any common sense ever thought the number dead would ever approach the number of infected. Having said that the number dead 128,000 from the Covid infection and the number of infected is 2.6 million. That puts the number of dead at 5 % of the infected figure. This is of course orders of magnitude greater then that fictional made up number you posted. Really, at least try and make an effort at appearing to be credible. Good day.

@Paul Goldstein, NYC I must say you are doing an exemplary job of making completely nonsensical and irrelevant statements. You are performing a vital service at what NOT to say in response to this serious global crisis. The global death rate from the covid pandemic has just passed a half million and the US has the distinction of having ONE QUARTER of those deaths despite having only 4 % of the world population. And that is tragedy of this pandemic made so much worse by this fraud in the WH. Yet all you've got to offer is to repeatedly try to minimize and characterize this pandemic. Shame on you.

Rush is hard core sycophant for Trump. I can't remember that last time he ever took on strong moral stand on anything.

@Good Vibrations. Bush had low ratings at the end of his term, but Clinton and Obama did not. Plus Trump has had low ratings for most of his reign of error. Your vibrations won't be very good if you keep putting nonsense while ignoring the tragedy of this fraud in the WH!!

@Stephen Nee. Masks don't protect the wearer from other people so much as protecting the mask wearer from spreading the virus. Fauchi didn't lie about mask protection, you just misunderstood what he said. Besides that you should be a lot more concerned about Trump making many, many more false statements about this pandemic. Like his mention of using disinfectants or UV light or hydroxychloroquine etc which was all delusional krap for a guy who knows nothing about health care. In addition this pandemic has killed many tens of thousands more because he didn't issue an early shut down order for the country. By leaving it up to states some sycophantic governors wanted to please Trump and do nothing. They are going to start paying for it now when they see their hospitals get overwhelmed and thousands die.

Was that sarcasm? Deaths always follow the increase in cases and with the ICU,s becoming increasingly over whelmed in southern states . . . .well we know where this going.

The other part. . .? Come on don't be shy what is it?

@John Mckie Art. Tell that to the hospital staff that were over whelmed in NYC from treating covid patients for 12 hour shifts and having many die every day. And with dramatic increase in cases in a dozen states now this catastrophe of overwhelmed hospitals is beginning to happen again. And this time it could be much worse because these states are FURTHER along with their covid infection case increase then NYC was with their circumstance. When you try and simplify this pandemic down to a few words you only succeed in showing how out of touch you are with the reality of this pandemic. What part of 127 thousand dead Americans in four months don't you understand??

@Paul Goldstein, NYC Of course you have zero evidence for such clueless statement, but fortunately you are in that tiny minority of conspiracy theory followers. Anyway may you have a good day.
