  2. That 2 million $ per launch is many years off if it ever gets there. And people complain about the cost of the SLS, by it sent the human rated Orion vehicle to a orbit of the Moon. Space X won't be ready to do that for a couple years and with humans a couple years after that. Musk has done great things with space X, but he also always over promises and under estimates how long it will take to reach a goal.

If I take that lousy analogy with movies to the end then the starship is the original in the sense that the construction, the design, the rocket fuel and the plan to make it reusable are all firsts. As the astronomer stated Space X is doing what has never been done before which makes an "original". In addition the Falcon 9 crashed several times before landing and look where it is now.

  4. Failure is not trying. Failure would have been starship blowing up on the pad which it clearly did not. Look back at previous launches that were less than stellar, but they persevered and learned from the mistakes as well as recognised what went right. And a lot went right on this first launch.

  6. Why don't you address the comments made the astronomer instead criticizing DW for not having "some guy"? Because criticizing their choice of an astronomer without considering what he had to say looks pretty shallow.

  7.  @Bitchslapper316  There will always be a place for smaller rockets to maintain a niche market. It will well over a decade before Space X can challenge that if ever. They may not see it profitable to try and absorb the small rocket business anyway!

  9.  @justitas3392  It exploded bbecause it was no longer functioning property. Space X used the FTS to destroy the rocket and prevent hazards to the public.
