Every time a booster comes down to land it exposed the drone to a blast of fiery exhaust which the drone is exposed to countless times. Thus the drone is saying to the booster, "Yes I still love you". Not the origin story, but that was the thinking.

Are you countering the explanation from the video? If so that makes zero common sense because there are numerous other videos of Falcon 9 booster landings!!

@actionarslan The bottom line is that many examples of landings of the Falcon 9 booster that were shown immediately and some that were not for the reasons explained in the video. Images of failed landings have also been broadcast so I see no attempt by Space X to mislead anyone at least as far as landings are concerned.

That IS what the video just said. It was recorded, but the directional feed to the satellite was disrupted by the jarring of the exhaust thrust from the booster approaching the drone ship.

Because a buoy bounces around to much even in a relatively calm seas to keep the directional signal directed to the satellite.

@kelly_ikir True, the shuttle solid rocket boosters were retrieved for later use, but not the external tank for which a new one was required for every launch. And what Ben seems to be impressed with as I am is those booster rockets were landed as only Space X does with a rocket that size.
