  1. It's really impossible to tell that from the photo. The electronic timer at the finish measures each athlete crossing the finish line to within a thousandth of a second. Kerr beat out Neguese by one hundredth of a second. 3:27.79 to 3:27.80. The 100 m photo finish was even closer with Lyles bearing Thompson by five thousandths of a second. 9.784 to 9.789.

  2. FYI. Nobody wins every single time they race. Especially when they race a lot which Ingebrigsen does. Jacob's mistake was going out too fast thinking he could still have a kick at the end. He overestimated his ability and underestimated both Neguese and Hocker.
