Another point that David could cite in criticism of republicans attempt to take down the postal service is the simple fact that US postal service is listed as an important entity in the Constitition. The Postal Clause Article 1 Section 8 states that gives Congress the power "to establish Post Offices and post roads". So if the Congress via the subversive actions of the republicans force the Post Office into financial instability through their policy then they are doing nothing to support the post office. So why would republicans peomote policies that would threaten an entity listed in the Constitution which they claim to hold so dear? Because republicans don't support democracy and this is reflected in do many other policy they advocate including limiting people's access to voting as just one example. And here is what the Constitution says about voting: The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age. And yet republicans go out of their way to deny or abridge the right to vote because as many republicans have said including Trump "we don't want a lot of people to vote".
