This is the African civet and probably the largest of all the civets.

How often do YOU ever see a civet in the wild on a video let alone know what it is?? 🙄
2
I'm sure that's already been done. You just have to look for the video very likely on YouTube.

@Viajero-1980 The civet is a distant relative of the hyena, mongoose and the big cats. So while it is a carnivore, most species are arboreal and nocturnal. This African civet is one of the larger species of civet and it is unusual for it to be out during the day time. The leopard acted like it had never seen one before and didn't know what to make of it. And the civet seemed obvious to the leopard or at least it felt it could handle itself.

What makes this a "risible fake click bait"?? What is risible about it? What is fake about it? What is click bait about it? EVERY other comment on this video people express interest in this animal called a civet which are in fact common in Africa and Asia, but usually not seen as they are nocturnal.

That leopard was young and maybe not hungry to begin with.

The civet is actually a distant relative of cats, hyenas and the mongoose, but in a different family called Viveridae

Or young and didn't know what to make of this animal.
1
Not really. That leopard was young and inexperienced and didn't know what to make of the civet. Plus the leopard may not have been hungry either.

I don't think that was because it wasn't observant. I think that it instinctively knows it can take care of itself. The mongoose which is a distant relative acts the same way until an animal is too close.

The observing vehicle did not interfere with the leopard stalking the civet. It was probably a young leopard and didn't know what to make of this animal. The leopard may not have been hungry either.
1
Not really a cat because the civet is in a different family, but they are distantly related.
1
It's a distant relative of the hyena.
