@mamacojackson9019 no they didnt mate and they won the most important too , and in the end the spanish empire crumbled . Don't forget the peninsular war where we had to bail Spain out,or even conquering your own land ,Gibraltar. To add to that the 9 year war ,the 80 year war ,the quadruple alliance, napoleonic wars ,jamaica, menorca twice , philipines,la habana ,portuguese independence etc etc

@mamacojackson9019 slightly irrelevant ,every empire has got shorter as time has past. What you seem to forget is in that period Spain was the super power but still couldnt defeat england or the british . Youre not saying anything New when you say everyone went against Spain, Spain persisted with an empire relying on state and church ,others were economic empires with companies doing the running. Spain's way was becoming obsolete in a changing world and it failed to adapt . Britain lost its empire because it fought for causes ,which weren't always theirs . The two world wars and its fight against slavery took its toll and its empire ,the way it stood ,wasn't feasible anymore anyway .however it changed into a financial empire which kept it alive for a while longer .Spain died in the xix century and never found a way back .As its customary ,empires never last ,they ascend then fade away. Spain didn't and couldn't make the change necessary to keep going ,it was finished by the xix century . State and church were a thing of tge past

@mamacojackson9019 they weren't worth it , Britain dominated argentinas sea ,and its infrastructures and finance . Same with ireland , and it kept the north in a negotiated deal with Eire . Who needed Afghanistan??? It had India, and pakistan. In any case it had too much in its hands ,it wasn't sustainable, so it changed to finance

@mamacojackson9019 france was a spanish allied it was not a threat to argentina . Britain had argentina surrounded and in the end it became a financial colony,it built its infrastructure and dominated its finance, basically it became Britain's in the xix century

@dr.victorvs because I addressed someone talking nonsense , the british empire was sacrificed for a cause ,ww1,ww2, slavery which they didnt have to be involved in,the spaniards through lack of change by their obsolete church and state . There's also an obvious change in direction in the british one into finance , and that didn't collapse as past empires had . Then again we're only talking about the top 2% of society, the rest didn't fare too well. It was a comparative comment in the same timespan whilst both were prominent . Eventually they all fall

@alvarotd2470 se te va la pinza jjj , guerras como la de los 9 años,80 años donde ganaron unas 29 batallas ,la cuádruple alianza,napoleónica , y aparte perdidas de territorio en menorca dos veces ,gibraltar, jamaica ,filipinas ,la habana etc ganasteis esas ? Me parece a mi que para un imperio contra un país pocas ganasteis . Madurez la tuya que están ahí en los anales históricos y lloriqueas con pavadas . Y lo de que pasaron en su punto bajo ??? Ese es problema suyo y de nadie más. No haber tocado pelotas o buscado las alianzas equivocadas .
