Its not quite that simple, there were others there before britain. Spain and france. They cling to the spanish colonisation of it before we did, or so they say, and there is proof they were there before. As a spanish colony they inherited it after their indepence around the early 1800s, the British were only on one island when they were there and Spain had claimed it all as theirs, , so they say, before that date, they also had it registerd in the 1500s before anyone else. In any case they claim Argentinians lived there before the brits came back to reclaim it around 1830s.

@juanignaciohubert3614 Thats not strictly true, río de plata didnt inherit the falklands from spain , they had some islands in their territory but not those.. And that is registered
