@abellseaman4114 what are you talking about???? I'm talking before it even got to that stage, What encircled the British and French troops was the French general ignoring its own intelligence on mechanised units entering France through the ardennes. It Was believed to be well secured but France sent to Belgium many troops to support the front line. The germans entered France and quickly surrounded the British and French troops by driving its advance towards the coast. Their offensive attack was blindingly fast, sickle cut was its name, the German troops were on meta amphetamine and were able to move night and day without any rest with little opposition to their mechanised divisions, panthers. It could've been avoided had they listened to the intelligence forwarded from air reconnaissance, but they simply didn't believe it. It was said to go as far back as Berlin, maybe a slightly exaggerated, but nonetheless had they listened they could've sent British and French bombers and stopped it in its tracks. It was a wasted opportunity that cost Europe greatly. That German operation basically conquered France and the low countries without much opposition thereafter. The French just didn't believe they'd attack through the ardennes with tanks and it was lightly defended. Probably the biggest cock up of the second World War. Germany were not in it for the long haul they didn't have the logistics or provisions for it, hence their tactics were what they were. Fast and deadly.

They may not, but it was their fault to ignore the reconnaissance of troops waiting to surround them. This information if acted upon could've halted the whole nazi effort and cut short the war before it had began
