@jpcodnia9133 that's not accurate, the Spanish threw out the British colony but gave it back a year later under treaty 1771. The Argentines, which there weren't many of as they only took a few gauchos the rest were Indian and black workers, went over with permission from the British consulate in Buenos aires, vernet, for a new business adventure, he exceeded his powers and was dealt with by the Americans, he'd apparently confiscated an American wailing ship and taken it back to Buenos aires. The British settled the problem by having a permanent administration there in 1833. Its was never argentine, it was never inherited from Spain as under international a third country has no such rights. In any case Spain only recognised argentinas independence in 1863 the same year it recognised the falklands were british
The Argentines have no real claim over anything but their greed. They stole territories from Chile and want these islands too. But legally they haven't rights and they know it, yet they still keep emotionally blackmailing third world countries in the UN for support claiming colonialism. But in reality, the falklands have no native people and are therefore owned by those who worked the land first. The intolerant ones are Argentina in all of this.

@stevenspilly let's see you fool, Germany did not have the production to invade britain, they had less planes to start of with and their navy wasn't comparable. Their equipment was not as hot as people make out, their tanks had huge problems with their gearbox and broke down frequently, plus they had considerable less than the allies, and their weapons seriously over heated needing more man power to make a machine gun fire for example. and let's not mention their lack of mobility unlike a totally mechanised British army. This was best seen in Russia as they marched everywhere and paid the price for it. Therefore, The brits survived the war alone before the yanks even thought about entering it and when they did there was a twofold reason, the Japanese attack and the propaganda job the brits did on them. Yep they supplied the UK, yes they left us to it till they knew they'd be bigger economically afterwards than the empire. But morally they had to enter and let's face it they're the same people, as are aussies, new Zealanders, Canadians etc much to your dislike. Have you heard of staying alive to fight another day? Well that's precisely Dunkirk for you. To win a war you have to sometimes lose a few battles. Now instead of hating why dont you read up on historical facts an educate yourself out of that bitterness you're suffering from.
BTW Russia and Britain were allies in the 2ww

@xsamrx4718 the celts didnt call themselves celts , thats a greek term ,which is what ive told you ,keltoi. And its a reference to a foreigner . In any case the term was popularised at a much later date . The romans used celtae . We dont actually know what they called themselves ,i imagine as they were varied tribes of people ,each would call itself by its own language ,which were different from one another . A gael would not understand a pict nor a cymri ,nor a breton . These migrating tribes would at the same time mingle with pre celtic people in whatever geographic territory they settled in. The celtic culture youre suggesting are the hallstatt people from central europe spreading westwards and are the supposed precusors . However ,these in turn have influences from other indo european cultures and their migrations from the euroasian steppe . Its a complex development of local cultures influenced by earlier migrations and interactions. So they werent one people by any stretch of the imagination.
You may well say we come from africa ,but the cradle of civilization is the mesopotamian territory from where many of the early migrations into europe stem from . Agriculture started there and was exported to europe with such migrations aiding the development , growth and evolution of new cultures .

@fernandoguill7279 opiniones?

@mamacojackson9019 no they didnt mate and they won the most important too , and in the end the spanish empire crumbled . Don't forget the peninsular war where we had to bail Spain out,or even conquering your own land ,Gibraltar. To add to that the 9 year war ,the 80 year war ,the quadruple alliance, napoleonic wars ,jamaica, menorca twice , philipines,la habana ,portuguese independence etc etc

@mamacojackson9019 slightly irrelevant ,every empire has got shorter as time has past. What you seem to forget is in that period Spain was the super power but still couldnt defeat england or the british . Youre not saying anything New when you say everyone went against Spain, Spain persisted with an empire relying on state and church ,others were economic empires with companies doing the running. Spain's way was becoming obsolete in a changing world and it failed to adapt . Britain lost its empire because it fought for causes ,which weren't always theirs . The two world wars and its fight against slavery took its toll and its empire ,the way it stood ,wasn't feasible anymore anyway .however it changed into a financial empire which kept it alive for a while longer .Spain died in the xix century and never found a way back .As its customary ,empires never last ,they ascend then fade away. There's a documentary on the second british empire, its called the spiders Web ,it explains how Britain turned an unviable territorial empire into a financial one .Worth a watch https://youtu.be/cmQK1n-iBFY?si=JlrOEBb2e_Sdz-ZE

@ars7096 pero de que coño Estas hablando??? .

@Trolasso_Gazpachero you associate nationality with arrogance and that is very dangerous, even in England there are differences in culture and way of thinking, North and south, as there is in Wales, Scotland and Ireland. I have many friends from all those nationalities you've mentioned and by contrata met other people who were not the same, you get all sorts.
In the case of the battle there were about 5 galleons sunk or captured but many more were hit. On their way round the islands having been blown of course many sank because of the damaged received. The fact is not do much how many were sank or not, the fact is the Spanish tried to invade but couldn't, that's where the victory lays. It was an attempt to pick more troops up in the low countries and then invade Britain, they were disorganised a D were attacked by faster and better prepared English ships dispersing them on 3 occasions. The chase and storm did the rest. Many came to ground around Scotland and Ireland and were either killed or taken prisoners. Spainish historians always make it sound as if it was just the storm, but they leave out other important details. There was a German documentary a few years back on wreckaged galleons found around the British and Irish coasts and evidence was found to suggest the calibre of cannon balls did not match the cannons, that shows why I said it was disorganised and also why they couldn't fire against the English ships.
To answer your hispanists comment, many are British and have received awards from the príncipe de Asturias awards, I think that says its not always propaganda. I can tell you that I've done my schooling in both countries including my degree, and I've found my studies in England more objective with less criticism of Spanish imperealim than viceversaanglophobia is more present in Spain. They fail to take criticism on the chin on slavery, forced convertions to Catholicism, pillaging, indoctrination, and genocide whether by illness or by the sword. They instead come up with ridiculous excuses like legislation, church building and culturising the natives and negative propaganda and lies. The common sense of the situation is there to be analised the conquistadores went there to conquer and get rich, to get the silver and gold out of the mines they need slaves and cool the superstitious natives down they needed both the church and sword. I leave it with you

@Trolasso_Gazpachero I've also been south, my mother's partner was from Jaén, and I've worked for a guy from Sevilla and been dozens of times to Málaga, Cádiz, Granada, Córdoba, Jaén and Sevilla. Spain is always fun where ever you go, and my criticism, if any is not with its people, its with the corruption of its politicians, which seems to me after studying Spanish history for so long a recurrenttheme since the Catholic Kings. Its a shame that such generous and friendly people are under such fools. However I still don't agree with many of its historians versions, the world was that way centuries ago and it mustn't be taken out of context like it is. You can't measure history by today's standards that's all I've been saying. All imperialists stole, killed and got rich at the expense of others and that's factual. And the comment of the sliced bread is a criticism on glorifying its history without necessity, today's Spain or Britain shouldn't be measured by how it acted centuries ago.
