There was a lot of confusion about the Infection Fatality Rate. The first reports of the Delta variant were too high. Eventually it was narrowed down to about 1.3% for Western demographic countries and then the Omicron variants, which dominate because it’s far more transmissible, are probably about a half a percent. Journalists always sensationalise. And the Chinese always lie.

@lukecastle2538 If it did leak from the lab in Wuhan the Chinese will never admit it. It’s possible it did. It took ten years to find out SARS came from civit cats.
