Now Russia has further criminally invaded Ukraine, occupied and illegally annexed Ukrainian territory and Putin is conducting a genocidal war against the Ukrainian people. The Donbas and Luhansk war was a proxy war by Russia under the guise of it being a civil war. The extension of that war is a war of Russian Imperialist aggression.
