  2. The GBR isn’t doing great. The repeated bleaching events have caused a loss of biodiversity on the reef. As the planet continues to warm rapidly due to anthropogenic CO2 emissions there will be more bleaching events. Polar ice caps and glaciers are rapidly melting. Rignot - Four decades of Antarctic ice sheet mass balance - PNAS. Mouginot - Forty six years of Greenland ice sheet mass balance - PNAS. Hugonnet - Accelerated global glacier mass loss - Nature journal. This year is on track to be the hottest year globally on the instrumental record. The hottest eight years globally on the instrumental record have been in the last eight years. Nineteen of the hottest twenty years globally on the instrumental record have been since 2000.

  12.  @southern-samurai  Before anthropogenic CO2 emissions changed the world warming did precede CO2 rise. Milankovitch Cycles caused warming which releases CO2 which reinforces warming until a new equilibrium is reached. You apparently know nothing about Climatology.

  16.  @mickoz9389  In an El Niño event warm water often moves down the Queensland coast from the Indonesian warm pool. The Indonesian warm pool is expanding and getting warmer. These bleaching events will continue.
