This year is on track to be the hottest year globally on the instrumental record. The last eight years have been the hottest eight years globally on the instrumental record. Nineteen of the hottest twenty years globally on the instrumental record have been since 2000. Every decade for the last seventy years has been warmer than the previous decade. The planet is warming rapidly due to anthropogenic CO2 emissions, far too rapidly.

Climate has never been weather. Except in the sense that Climate is determined by a long period of weather measurements. Usually thirty years is long enough to determine a trend in the Climate.
