Race is not a factor in anyway in this incident, maybe the subsequent investigation will smack of racism, but not this incident.
This is "temporary insanity" for sure. Which explains the irrational actions of this father. Shooting the Driver, taking the truck , leaving his sons dead body, driving home, throwing away the gun, are all actions that are irrational and point to "temporary insanity". ... The father just seen his 17 year old soon instantly killed. This father just witnessed his son's body destroyed and his organs spilling out of his body, as his body is shaking violently in his finial death throes, the blood soaking the ground, this father looks into his son's cold dead eyes. His wife and the dead teenager's mother is also standing there, and seen the very same thing, and is screaming and crying hysterically. What is going thru this father's mind at that moment? Could that cause insanity? ... ABSOLUTELY!

@shade38211 , Correct, it doesn't matter that he disposed of the gun. I was replying to a comment claiming that the father throwing away the gun meant something nefarious. I just gave an example of a reasonable motive for throwing away the gun. It is for the jury to decide, but it is very certain that the father shot and killed the driver. Finding the gun is not important.
North Carolina, has the "insanity defense", this is "temporary insanity" for sure. Which explains the irrational actions of the father. Shooting the Driver, taking the truck, driving home, throwing away the gun, are all actions that point to "temporary insanity. The father just seen his 17 year old soon instantly killed. @phoenixmistertwo8815 Almost no killings or murders happen under these circumstances.
This is "temporary insanity" for sure. Which explains the irrational actions of this father. Shooting the Driver, taking the pickup truck , leaving his sons dead body, throwing away the gun, driving home, not fleeing but waiting at his house for cops to show up, are all actions that are irrational and point to "temporary insanity". ... The father just seen his 17 year old son instantly killed. This father just witnessed his son's body destroyed and organs spilling out of his body, as his body is shaking violently in his finial death throes, his son's blood in a pool on the ground, this father looks, for the last time, into his son's cold dead eyes. I think you would make a good juror. You seem to care a lot. If all the evidence is presented to you in a court room and you have a chance to think about it, search you soul and listen to your heart, you would come to a fair and just verdict.

@whoogoesthere Yes. Driving the pickup truck the short distance to his house, and many witness seen him take the pickuo truck is a very poor job of stealing, something only an insane person would do. Throwing away a gun that everybody knows he just used to kill the driver accomplishes nothing, something only an insane person would do.
This is "temporary insanity" for sure. Which explains the irrational actions of this father. Shooting the Driver, taking the pickup truck , leaving his sons dead body, driving home, waiting for police to come to his house, not fleeing. throwing away the gun that is now irrelevant for a conviction, are all actions that are irrational and point to "temporary insanity". ... The father just seen his 17 year old son instantly killed. @boneybone8123 So this investigator is claiming that this pickup truck driver failed to see three people, plainly visible in the middle of the road, but killed him anyway.
