  1. Yes, but the old broken bottle will be back haunting kids running around barefoot. I was a victim of that in the 70s, where one split the sole of my foot wide open. It was the broken bottom of a pop bottle hidden in the grass.

  2. I'll be 59 in one month. Do you know how many of the kids, my age, picked up glass bottles, and turned them in for pocket money? Twelve-year-olds picking up Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper bottles along the roads, and out of the ditches. We did it for fun, with our friends, and got a paid lunch out of it. That, or we saved it back for something we wanted. Can you imagine today's kids doing this? We were paid five cents per bottle back then. Keep in mind, though, that beer bottles were non-returnable.
