  1. States will use any excuse to raise a tax. There are several states that brought in a sales tax on groceries, claiming it to only be temporary, but they never did do away with it. There are cities with a meals tax. Whisky tax was supposed to be temporary. Carbon tax is another scam, based upon a lie. Please tell me, that there aren't enough people stupid enough to vote for it.
