  1. Well, Venezuela did somewhat diversify and had automobile manufacturing, but they did exactly what all hard left socialist countries do, and nationalized it. Now, they have nobody to run them, after GM and the others had to leave. In one city, there was at least a large GM and Ford plant, but both are idle, and their parking lots are empty. Socialism always fails, because there is no such thing as their vaunted utopia. That was the biggest lie ever muttered, as hardline socialism is nothing but rebranded feudalism, having no middle-class, with the poor living on a pittance, while those at the top of the government are wallowing in the wealth made by their crony capitalism. The people threw off the yoke of feudalism, yet the idiots on the left want it back. Hell, Marx extolled the virtues of feudalism but thought that he was everyone's better and that he and Engels would be at the top.
