Theosophy picked up its socialist ideology, it is thought, from the Adamites and Neo-Adamites ideology (13th century - from the radical Hussites, Brethren of the Free Spirit and the Taborite faction in Bohemia, and, in the 14th century, by some German Beghards). It is thought that this can be traced back through the Black Brotherhood, and to the Carpocratians, etc. This led to quietism, later on, within the Quakers and Diggers.
