Social Security is an enforced retirement, and there was a good reason behind it, as beforehand, when one became too old to work, they had no means of supporting themselves, leaving it upon the shoulders of the family to do so, and creating a hardship on the children. It was never an entitlement, which the Ds love. Entitlements are government program monies that are given out to people who never paid in for it. It's graft from the working portion of society, a redistribution of wealth scheme. SS is not that. . SS can be easily funded, as well as the entire government, by taxing the goods that one buys, as well as placing tariffs on imports, which is how it used to work, before income tax and the Fed were created. Income tax gave the government an open checkbook to spend to its heart's content. . SS is threatened by one thing, unemployment at the moment. If nobody are working, then nobody are paying in. It is the Ds who are threatening it, by keeping the nation shut down.
