Their idea has been to make everyone just as miserable as them. However, their ruling elite does have fun, as they push for immorality, and are hedonists, which is why they hate law enforcement. There's a reason that they still follow Keynesian economics as well, as immorality and hedonism were Keynes' beliefs too. He's not the man that writers have made him out to be, as he despised the bourgeois middle-class, claiming that our use of credit, and our savings were the enemy. He even wished to see us all wiped out, and his rhetoric was much like the fascists.
