They're not just playing the game because they were forced to; they believe in the same perfectibilist ideology and theology of the east.
There have been several articles, and books, authored about Silicon Valley's elite, and their quietist and perfectibilist belief. Their "gurus" taught them that in their present life, they "can attain such a degree of perfection as to become utterly sinless; that the 'perfect' have no need to fast or pray, but may freely grant the body whatsoever it craves, [regardless of the law]. This may be a tacit reference to the Cathars or Albigenses of southern France and Catalonia, and that they are not subject to any human authority or bound by the precepts of the Church, [or state]." Thus, they wish to tear down the moral law, and invert every virtue, thus destroying the state. They literally live the life of Bacchus, and wish to completely disrupt society.
From the article Bacchanalia 2.0 at Vanity Fair:
"Their behavior at these high-end parties is an extension of the progressiveness and open-mindedness—the audacity, if you will—that make [Silicon Valley's] founders think they can change the world. And they believe that their entitlement to disrupt doesn't stop at technology; it extends to society as well."
