  1. This was what I was speaking of the other day, when stating that the ancient Chinese had a form of it, which the Brits found upon their arrival. The Brits' fraternity grew from the guilds into an enlightenment club in 1717, but the Chinese still had a sort of guild system, and it's rumored that the Triads are tied to that as well. BTW, the Mason's guild still exists in the City of London as well, and is not affiliated with the fraternity. The 1717 fraternity, really, was started as a welfare program to help the Masons who were now out of work after the rebuilding had ended over the 1666 fire. The esoteric stuff was added when the aristocracy started to join, and those were the days of alchemy.
