Merkel, et al, did try to claim that Russia would affect their election, but Russia is Germany's largest trading partner. Imagine that.
Socialism took hold, in the US, in the early 1900s, when communism first came here. Especially, when they infiltrated the first trade unions. Woodrow Wilson loved it, and so did FDR.
Margaret Thatcher, on Feb. 5, 1976, in a TV interview for Thames TV This Week, said, "...and Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."
