  1. The leftists, in both parties, thought that they would easily usher in Trotskyism and "third way politics," but it's crashing and burning. They hated 45, over him wanting to bring the Old Right back, which was non-interventionist, and pro-American. It was the Trotskyites, who infiltrated the right from the left, which brought down the Old Right; taking control of the R Party. It was a leftist R behind the "get Trump" movement, and the Lincoln Project. He had also founded PNAC, and that was Kristol, a well known Trotskyist. I believe that his lot were also behind Charlottesville, and Jan 6th as well.
