@Adam Cinq-Mars As time has moved forward, and Christianity has shrank, especially over certain protestant and reformed religion's loose moral ideologies, it seems that more with that predilection seek the church as a place to hide.
Of course, this has always been within it, going back to the Romans, but never to this extent. Perversion was reported by Martin Luther, and the Marquis de Sade long ago, but after the French Revolution, and Georgian era England, it seems to have continually become worse. Back in those days, though, it was more of a prostitution problem that was reported.
I think that the idea of the RCC allowing a certain lot in, came from the Unitarians, who've always used the rainbow as a symbol, and pushed an inclusive immoral behavior. I've noticed that in the reformed as well. Plus, there are the Middle-Eastern and Asiatic religions that think nothing of a man marrying a child that's just came into puberty, and some have been known to mess with young males as well.
