  1. Their new landlords will be Russian or Chinese oligarchs. Next, their rent will skyrocket, as the oligarchs have a way of having real estate valued way above its worth. That, or the building will be torn down, and something much more expensive will be built. The landlords that can hold out, will still have to pay taxes, insurance, maintenance, and in some cases, a mortgage on the property. How will they recoup that without going broke? Now, if the government controlled the property, look out, because there would still be rent, and the maintenance they were used to would go in the toilet. These properties would end up the same as project housing, but, of course, this is how the Democrats love to live; to slum it. I did not believe that people on the left were that stupid, until Trump was elected. These people have to have an IQ below 70.
