I wonder when people will cotton onto the fact, that the entirety of DC is corrupt, and that everything is based on pay-to-play, including the power structure of both parties? When a junior congressperson goes to DC, they will find out that they are immediately over $100 thousand in debt. They buy their positions on the committees, and there is even a price list. A congressperson can buy the votes of others in Congress, by moving money from one congressperson's campaign war chest into others. It is legal to do it, and it's all hidden as campaign donations. Hell, Congress controls the district, including the DC police. The district's laws are different than the rest of the US.
