  1. If the Democrats ever hope to survive, and that chance is very slim now, then they'll have to rid themselves of the progressives. When the Progressive Party folded, just after Truman came into office, after 1948, they became Democrats. The DNC allowed many of them into the party's power rank, giving them control. They slowly began a takeover, then, and after 2000, they pretty much had a stranglehold on the party. Who were the Progressive Party of 1948? It wasn't Teddy Roosevelt's progressives. They were communists, fellow travelers, anti-war protesters, and every other crackpot fringe group rolled into one. They are why Henry Wallace was suddenly removed from the Democratic ticket in 1944, as he was spouting their propaganda, and many historians state that he had become a communist. Wallace ran under the Progressive Party ticket in 1948, against the Democrats, Republicans, and the Dixiecrats. The Democrats had already accepted socialism with the "New Deal", so it wasn't hard for the "progressives" to start trying to control them after 1948. By the 1960s. Marcuse, et al, had already indoctrinated many in university, and they all joined the Democrat's ranks. Have a listen to David Horowitz, who was one of those communists, and listen to him retell what happened. David is the left's worst nightmare.
