  1. What you have to understand about LA is, it's the city where every screwup, malcontent, nut, and those that never fit in elsewhere, moved to live. Next, some reared families there, while others adopted. Those that founded Hollywood were famous for denying who they were, and denying their ancestry, even to the point of legally changing their names. This includes the first producers and directors. Worse, many were tied to the mob. Nobody, in the US that I know, takes anyone from LA seriously. Their opinions are ignored for the most part, and that's especially true over their political views, because everyone knows about what is behind the unions and guilds in their line of work. They have more in common with the old Soviet Union and Ch in a than the US.

  2. There are some, though, that have delusions of grandeur, and who have no guilt, (mentally disturbed), that idolize the lifestyle, and move to LA to try to gain employment. It's been that way since Hollywood was founded, and in LA, this includes every form of entertainment. What many don't understand about, say, Nashville, is that it is controlled by the LA recording studios. When some want to become a country singer, they're signing a contract with the devil himself. The entertainment industry is the old amusements racket of the mob, and what the mob called amusements were every vice known to man. That is what you find in California, New York, and elsewhere.
