Speaking of Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut really stirred the public to the point of many conspiracy theories coming out; especially Satan worship. In reality, that was about real parties thrown by the wealthy, which are for the Carnival, Day of the Dead, and Crop Over, etc. Yes, the wealthy do have perverted swinger parties and other sexcapades that are invite only. It's no different from those held by people of lesser wealth; they're just not advertised to the general public.

@sangheiliwarrior86 Yes, that was what was said in the movie. The warning was about not exposing the sex lives of some of the upper class and politicians. It's been happening around Washington for many years, especially bars, clubs, and restaurants at Dupont Circle, which cater to these elite sex partiers. Swinging is still a big thing in their clique, along with other fetishes like S&M. Remember the photos of a certain wealthy banking family's party? That was a masked Carnival party held at their manor.

@sangheiliwarrior86 Yup, that was during the Carnival, just private. The R family. It's been written about in the past by a few authors. Something tells me that Stanley may have been to a few himself, so he rewrote an old story that made film to show it. It is based on the 1926 novella Traumnovelle (Dream Story) by Arthur Schnitzler. I have several books about the elite's sex antics, which go back to the seventeenth century or so.
