Essentially, since WWI, Europe had three forms of socialism trying to take control, with communism, and two forms of fascism, both Italian and German. Proto-fascism, did, in fact, spring from the socialist movement that started in France. Its roots came to Italy earl on, with their revolution. Those that claim it is tied to conservatism are either totally ignorant of history, or they're liars.

@Normal Guy 2022 People think that the right means the same thing in every nation, when it doesn't. As you say, Spangler was where their idea came from for the "German Right." "Spengler's Prussian socialism was popular amongst the German political right, especially the revolutionary right, who had distanced themselves from traditional conservatism." -- Wiki One could have two forms of socialism in a nation, in two leading parties, and be called the left and right to distinguish them. That was close to what occurred in Germany.
