Nationalism is nothing but the love of one's nation, its people, its way of life, and its governing set of laws. It's about supporting and protecting that nation, and its people, from others.

@ Here is Oxford Dictionary's definitions: 1) the desire by a group of people who share the same ethnic group, culture, language, etc. to form an independent country. 2) a feeling of loving your country very much and being very proud of it; a feeling that your country is better than any other. It never took a derogatory tone until after WWII over Germany, and it's mainly used by those who claim that the NSDAP is hiding under everyone's beds.

@TheAngryTrapezoid That's one of the two definitions as shown above, from the Oxford Dictionary. It's either or with this word.
