  2. It's true that a few American elites, along with FDR, were behind the demise of the British Empire. When Churchill signed the Atlantic Charter with FDR, he did not intend on giving up the colonies, but Britain was forced into it post-WWII after Churchill was forced out, where the banks then said that if you want loans to rebuild, you will do certain things. The creation of the UN was also the cause, where they blamed colonialism for both world wars, and still do. Also, even though Churchill was for the creation of what became the EU, he was never for Britain joining the union.
