  1. Those old Tudor and later era houses, with the sagging ceilings due to the sagging beams and floors overhead, and the short doorways, are still standing, whereas the newer ones are falling apart.

  2. I'd hate to see what a one-bedroom apartment costs in NYC these days. They had a small kitchen area when you entered, and a bedroom/living area toward the outer wall, where some even had a small bath installed instead of using one down the hall.
