@kazzxtrismus Right after Windows 95 came out, along with CDs, the new burner drives came out, and I remember paying over $300 for an HP drive to fit my old Compaq tower, just so I could save mp3s and a few apps.
Windows 3.1 came on six 3.5" floppies, which would hold about nine megs of data between the six. After 95 appeared on a CD, the apps kept growing in size. I even remember when the second edition and beta for 95 was out, and if I remember correctly, it was called Memphis. It hit the early Warez community PDQ.
When a 500 meg and a one gig hard drive was introduced, I remember saying, why would you want one that large?
Back then, Gates offered us a free diploma for Visual Basic and C++. I still have mine for VB. I was wondering what was up, and later, I found that they needed to have people with diplomas to get these courses started at the unis, which now cost folks bookoos of cash.
