"Fleeing war, terror, and persecution," is a favorite phrase of the left, as that was what the proto-socialists (radical religious communalists of the radical reformation) had to do throughout Europe, when they found that their ideology wasn't accepted by the majority. The bad thing was, they eventually fled to the Americas, where their ideology festered, and it continued to spread. That ideology was what was hijacked by Babeuf, Saint-Simon, Bazard, and Fourier in France, and Owen, Engels, and Marx in Britain. This is why they're always claiming to be oppressed, because the majority has never agreed with their lunacy.
