In reality, all the world is dark and dangerous. It's according to where one visits and pokes their nose within a city or state. As an example, you can veer into certain parts of NYC and London, where you'll be mugged, or worse. That didn't start with immigration, it's always been that way.

@ЕвгенийПершин-е1ь First, there were Jarls and Earls (Village Chieftains), and then Sheriffs (Shire Reeves), to enforce the king's law. As the population grew, and especially through hard times, crime grew, where policing was created. If the Western nations weren't the same as those in the East or South, they wouldn't have ever needed law enforcement. Yes, I've noticed the same hypocrisy as you.
