  1. The thing is, many science fiction writers obtained their ideas from actual things just coming out, or being discussed. The writers for Star Trek did that very thing, while pushing their idea of a world utopian government. One would be surprised at what was being discussed in the Western gov's halls at the end of WWII. For that matter, one would be surprised at how old the thought of progressivism is, going back to Henry Adams, Pres. Adams's (2nd Pres.) great-grandson, who believed that those that believed in individualism stood in the way of progressivism, which had its roots in German post-secondary education. He was also one of the worst antisemites that ever was, and hated lenders.
