  1. In the US, we call them Neoconservatives. They popped up with the New Left, and they have quite the history. During WWII, especially in NYC, there was a group of academics that supported Trotsky, and hated Stalin. Dewey was one such individual at Columbia U. The graduates were known as the New York Intellectuals. These "intellectuals" were in the D Party at the time, and didn't like the fact that FDR was siding with Stalin, where they claimed Stalin was a nationalist, so, they left their party for the GOP. That's the real history behind them, and why the GOP started a new progressive purge in 2016.

  2.  @puncha.commie194  The Kristol brothers, where one of them was known as the founder of Neoconservatism. They used to go on Bill Buckley's show, and Bill K was behind the Lincoln Project trying to topple Trump.

  3.  @joevolcano6720  Yes, they claimed that they changed what they believed later on, especially on Buckley's show, but they are still a type of socialist. Think of the left wing in the Levant, and how that changed after capitalism came into their nation, where the Kibbutzim started to fold and people left it. They're really who make up the New Left as well, and there you find Blair and Clinton.
