They have never had any idea about rural life. Plus, they massively missed the truth about what was taking place in their cities. It's why you always see horror films starting with a city dweller traveling to the country.

Before the spate of recent crime over the last ten years, there were large supermarkets in the black neighborhoods, which employed their people, and stocked specific foods that they liked. Big Bear was one such supermarket chain in the US. What drove them to close was the Walmart Superstores. Big Bear merged with Harts Dept Store to try the concept, but it was too late, as Walmart already had the hold on the community and market. No, they're wanting to drive smaller stores out of business, leaving the Superstores as your only option.
