It's the New Left and New Right, or, in the GOP's case, "the so-called Rockefeller Republicans. The New Right also differs from the Old Right (1933–55) on issues concerning foreign policy with neoconservatives being opposed to the non-interventionism of the Old Right." "The first New Right (1955–64) was centered on the right-wing libertarians, traditionalists, and anti-communists at William F. Buckley's National Review. 624 Sociologists and journalists had used new right since the 1950s; it was first used as self-identification in 1962 by the student activist group Young Americans for Freedom." This was when the New York Intellectuals joined the party claiming to be anti-communists, but in reality, they were Trotskyites that were only anti-Stalinists, and they were the fathers of neoconservatism. This is where third-way politics began to take root.

@goosegirl941 Look at what Thomas Paine was involved in at France, and he wrote Common Sense. Washington was even worried about members of our military siding with France during the XYZ Affair is they attacked us.

1955 began the downfall of the US with the creation of the New Left and New Right. That was when Trotsky's people infiltrated the GOP, took control away from the Old Right, and took firm control of the left.
