  1. This was the old Federalist argument, once Jefferson rose up to stop their big business, big banking, and big brother government advance. By 1900, federalism had overtaken both parties, and both pushed it. Funnily enough, federalism has walked hand in hand with socialism since the late 1800s, which was pushed by Christian Socialism in Boston and NYC.

  3.  @chrisbingley  Some wanted to make George Washington a king, but he wouldn't have it. They came up with "The President." They designed the Capitol Building after St. Paul's Cathedral and wanted to place Washington's coffin in the basement like a tomb. He didn't want that either. The Washington Monument, an obelisk, is placed on the mall close to the Capitol, just as an ancient religious temple had an obelisk or pole placed outside in the courtyard to represent the masculine aspect. The Capitol Building itself represents the feminine. The divine right of kings? Washington claimed to be neutral and wasn't for parties, however, Washington didn't care much for Jefferson's limited central government either and sided with the federalists. All of the federalist's (who eventually became the GOP under Lincoln) overreach and tariffs over the years are what finally led to the Civil War. Slavery was only a portion of it. Babeuf, Marx, Engels, Trotsky, Lenin, and Stalin were all pro-slavery and pushed for the use of compulsory forced labor just like some in the aristocracy. Socialists wear blinders when the gulags (forced labor camps) are mentioned. That's the truth that they always hide.
